🌟 Obsession will beat talent every time 🌟Growing up, I never was the most physically dominant athlete or the most intelligent person in the room - it was a tough pill to swallow at the time, but it was necessary to confront uncontrollable factors in becoming a better athlete. Though talent and intelligence are necessary attributes for success in any situation, obsession presents a unique wild card factor.What I did find was that I could be more disciplined…more relentless…more obsessive because that didn’t take talent, genetic luck, or a high IQ; it requires sacrifice, mental fortitude, and not allowing recourse caused by difficulty but rather seeking out challenge through adversity to come out the other side.The reality is it was those skills that have translated to every aspect of my life: as a father, as a husband, as a leader, and as an employee. The obsession to understand, to win at all costs regardless of the sacrifice, and the willingness to do what is necessary even when it’s hard…when talent and intelligence weren’t enough, it was obsession and grit that made the difference.Obsess over the details, seek out adversity to grow, and don’t let a predisposition derail what can be achieved by discipline. Control what you can control and find a way to to win no matter what.

I am beyond proud of my team and how they are going after differentiating the customer experience with incremental selling, community events, and creating the best culture for associates and customers.There is honestly nothing quite as rewarding as finding the right talent to tackle a long-standing challenge, and to see that team push their limits. I have watched my Bakery Manager, Jomaris, go from being a courtesy clerk just 2 years ago to now leading what was an opportunistic bakery department. Through grit, determination, and great leadership, Jo has changed the culture and expectation in such an important area in stores - Bakery continues to be a highlight in growth at 569. The department is running +3.4% ID’s since she took it over 🌟Jo is just one example of the dozens of leaders I have in my building who work tirelessly to compete to win against adversity. As we look to make great plans for the next selling seasons and develop a “no customer left behind” strategy for the holidays, I’m excited to be a part of what this team delivers and the difference they make in the Gallatin Community.

I’m a Wellness 180 Champ!I am excited to share that I have been selected by my peers as a 2024 Wellness 180 Champion for the Nashville Division!
