A. Hammons Thomas A. Hammons, 83, of Gibsland, died Thursday afternoon at Schumpert Medical Center after a long illness. Funeral arrangements are pending at Conger Funeral Home in Arcadia. A native of Tremont, Mr.

Mrs. Kate Alexander Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery for Mrs. Ophelia Mathis, 90, of 2915 Curtis Lane, who died at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday in Heritage Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.

today in McGuire Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian. The Rev. Glenn Willard, pastor of Vivian Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Vivian Cemetery. Mr.

Butler died Wednesday at North Caddo Memorial Hospital in Vivian after a short illness. A native of Victoria, B. Canada, Mr. Butler had lived in Vivian for 57 years. He was a member of Vivian Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Janice Ervin of Shreveport, one son, Lynn Butler of Omaha, one sister, Mrs. Isabel Lee of Vivian; two brothers, George L. Butler of Columbia, and Edwin W. Butler of Salem, and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bill Sumners, Jasper K. Smith, Varnell Giddens, Ralph Ludwig, Verlon Graves and Jerry Guin. Mrs. Katherine Smith Mrs. Katherine Bruno Smith, 71, of 1104 Everett died Thursday at 5:10 p.m.

Mrs. Watkins Mrs. Elizabeth Bowlby Watkins, 53, of Keatchie, died Wednesday in John Sealy Hospital of Galveston, after a brief illness. She was a native of Texarkana, and is survived by a son, Charles E. Gregg, of Denver, Colo.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a m. Saturday in Keatchie Presbyterian Church with the Rev McNair Smith, pastor of Fairfield Avenue Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, officiating. Burial will be in Keatchie Cemetery under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall Street Chapel. Pallbearers will be Eugene Adams, Roscoe Riley, Hall, Donald Fisher, David B. The body will be sent to Dallas for cremation. Survivors include her husband, Ralph D. Jacks of Shreveport; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Graham of Shreveport; three daughters, Cathy Jacks, Barbara Jacks and Linda Jacks, all of Shreveport; and two brothers, Jimmy Graham David Graham, both of Shreveport.

Funeral services are pending at Osborn Funeral Home. Mrs. Pierpont was a native of Aberdeen, S.D., and had lived in Shreveport since 1940. She was a charter member of Broadmoor Christian Church and was past president of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Marshall, Tex. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs.

Barbara of Shreveport and Mrs. Alice Gehlen of Kilgore, one son, John Howard Pierpont of Dallas, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Survivors include his widow: 10 sons, Preston Birdwell, Luther Birdwell, Hoyt Birdwell, Raymond Birdwell, Harvey Birdwell, Herman Birdwell, Vernon Birdwell, Wilmer Birdwell and Harold Birdwell, all of Marthaville, and Odell Birdwell of Shreveport; 38 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Wednesday at his home, 432 Pennsylvania after a sudden illness. A native of Gilliam, Dr. Worley was born March 30, 1904. He had lived in Shreveport more than 50 years and established his practice in pediatrics here in 1928. A past president of the Shreveport Medical Society, Dr.

Worley had twice served the Caddo Parish School Board as president during the 24 years he was on the board. He was director of health services for the Caddo School Board's Title I program at the time of his death. Dr. Worley obtained his B. S.

degree from Centenary College and earned his medical degree from Baylor University School of Medicine in 1926. He was an intern at the old 1 Charity Hospital here and served as a resident in pediatrics at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, for two years. In 1971 Dr. Worley was recipient of the Mr. Shreveport Award from Shreveport Optimist Club for his outstanding work with youth.

He was team phyisican for Fair Park High School's football team from 1932 to 1960 and was for many years basketball chairman of the YMCA. Dr. Worley was a member of First Baptist Church where he served on the board of deacons. He was a member of local, state and American medical associations. In 1950 he served on the White House Conference on Children and Youth.

He was a member of the Shreveport Country Club and a former member of the Lions Club. For 20 years Dr. Worley served as a member of the Selective Service Appeals Board, western district. He had served on the staffs of all local hospitals and had been a member of the staff at St. Ann's Home for Unwed Mothers from its founding.

Dr. Worley is survived by his widow, the former Dessie Mae Bostick of Pleasant Hill. Other survivors include two sons, Dr. W. H.

Worley of Shreveport and Penuel Hayes Worley of Little Rock, two daughters, Mrs. Richard Wolf of Shreveport and Mrs. Roy Jackson of Little Rock; his mother, Mrs. Penuel C. Worley of Shreveport; three brothers, Lewis Dale Worley, Dr.

Ross Worley and Dr. P. C. Worley, all of Shreveport, and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dr.

S. L. Gill, Dr. R. H.

Riggs, Dr. J. W. Cotter, Dr. William Haynie, Judge Ruvian D.

Frances P. O'Daniels, 71, of 4528 Rightway Avenue, died at 1 p.m. yesterday in Midway Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. A native of Cement, Mrs. 0'Daniels had lived in Shreveport since 1935.

She was a retired secretary for Confederate Memorial Hospital and a member of the First Christian Church of Shreveport. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Wellman Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr.

Howard Johnson, pastor of First Christian Church. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Survivors include three brothers, George M. Pugh of Shreveport, Leroy D. Pugh of Jourdonton, and Glen L.

Clark of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Louise P. McDuffie of Shreveport and Mrs. D. M.

Dora Scott Mrs Dora Scott, 90, of 2752 Amherst, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Midway Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was a native of Arkansas and a resident of Shreveport for two years. She was a former resident of Oklahoma and a member of the Christian church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs.

Lilly Jeffries of Shreveport, Mrs. Ruby Peterson of Florida, Mrs. Jimmie Mac Lardy of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Vera Brazil Smithers of Oklahoma City, Okla; and one son, J. E.

Scott of Pawhuska, Okla. Funeral services are under direction of Capitol Hill Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. Mrs. Wanda Phillips Mrs. Wanda Jean Phillips, 26, of 3024 Boss Avenue died at 1:45 p.m.

Wednesday in the Physicians and Surgeons Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Phillips lived in Shreveport all her life and was a machine operator for the Shreveport Garment Co. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel.
