Day 6Task: Analyze sales trends over time and suggest, suggest strategies for improving sales.ReportUpon thorough examination of the supermarket sales dataset through pivot table analysis, I have identified the following insights.- The product line with the highest total sales is food and beverage.- Sports and travel have the lowest total sales.- Naypyitaw City has the highest total shaves- Mandalay City and Yangon City have equal total sales which are the lowest total sales.- Home and lifestyle have the highest rating.- Ewallet is the highest payment method.- Health and beauty has the lowest ratings.Suggestions I recommend implementing an extensive advertising campaign for the sports and travel product line. The Real Fuel Markets of New Jersey:My home state of New Jersey is the 5th smallest state in terms of land area, but it is also the 11th most populous state.It is the most densely populated state with 1,300 people per square mile and it has the second highest median income just behind Maryland.When it comes to the Fuel landscape, drone footage would indicate that traditional brands dominate the market.60% of stations in the Garden State fly a traditionally branded flag.However, based on actual visits to stations, it is the unbranded sites that dominate with 63% of all traffic.Wawa has the largest market share with almost 30% of the visits followed by QuickChek with 7.9%.Wawa had an efficiency rating of 4.05 compared with QuickChek’s 2.64 score.Efficiency Ratings are calculated by dividing Market Share by Outlet Share with a higher number indicating higher volumes per store. Costco had 7.4% of all visits, but with an outlet share of just 0.68% of all sites it had an efficiency rating of a whopping 11.01.BJ’s and Sam’s Club's Efficiency were 5.49 and 4.39 respectively.Sunoco had the highest Efficiency score of the traditional brands, but it was just 0.75.Exxon had the highest price differential versus direct competition.On a given day in January the average Exxon site was priced 12.2cts/gal above other sites in the area.Costco had the largest discount versus competitors at nearly 26cts/gal below. Thank you to everyone for your huge engagement with my post last week about the stress and pressures of starting a new business (and the impact it had been having on my husband). I do have an ask of my LI community, as I think this is the best place to start.7 weeks in and New Zealand is starting to really hum. We seem to have systems in place (couriers for direct sales, a couple of retail stores), and great organic word-of-mouth happening to enable growth.Where I know we are struggling, and a huge opportunity for a potential partner, is in distribution for us in to one of the territories which we are getting constant pull and enquiry from. With practically no marketing (we have done 10 instagram posts and 1 Instagram Live to date) I get asked now, at least 12 times a day, if we are shipping to any of these territories yet:- Australia- UK- USA (California, primarily)- CanadaWe are not shipping outside of NZ currently, but would like to.... and direct shipping from our online store would be too expensive (USD$100 to just get 1 x 10L box to Los Angeles!!). So we are seeking a distribution partner, who knows how to do this (book shipping containers, clear them at customs, store them in a warehouse and distribute to customers.... either via direct sales, or with a retail store/brand which aligns to values and customer segments)Our customers are segmented in to : 25 - 56 years of age, women (70%) & men (30%) who are: - Wellness seekers- Spiritual seekers- Chronically ill (auto-immune diseases or diagnosed with cancer and going through chemotherapy)So potentially an organic food distributor or health supplies & supplements distributor. Nationally and internationally, we have seen many good advertisem*nts that speak with us privately even in the buzz of social media or in the randomness of the information. This advertisem*nt of Hindustan Unilever Limited strikes me significantly and I believe this trend must continue to inspire biggest brand houses. Afterall Ajay Devgan does not chew Pan Masala and Alia Bhat does not consume a coloured mango flavoured drink that contains more than 10% raw sugar. India’s generation next is smart enough to understand these age-old tactics of misguiding the mass. During that very limited 30 seconds, the ad houses need to start with “Why”. "Why the product can be a good fit for you?"As our favourite Simon Sinek says that first state your purpose. The "How" and "what" can walk quite comfortably afterwards. In this Article, Shell discusses how the brand is able to return to Sri Lanka after agreeing to a licensing supply agreement with the Tristar Group. This will not only positively impact Shell as they are able to return to a previous market but will also bring new jobs and economics students to the people of Sri Lanka.The article also discusses Shell's entry into the market again by bringing in 150 retail fuel states across Sri Lanka; Shell was awarded this because of its reputation as a global leader in the oil and gas industry. With big corporations like Shell entering new markets, they bring a multitude of new opportunities to the countries when they enter. With Shell being allowed back into the market, this could potentially lead to Sri Lanka allowing other big companies to enter, which will, in turn, benefit all parties involved.#PGE301
