I've been working on a small project about the upcoming "Abyss Update" to Skyblock and so far these are my ideas, thoughts and creations.

▶ How the update should look.
The update's obviously about the Sea or the Ocean and what better way to experience an aquatic feel without the 1.13 Aquatic Update! My idea is that we should update Skyblock to be only playable with the 1.13 version or above, we'll definitely keep the 1.8 Combat Mechanics so don't riot!
The Aquatic Update presents many important aspects to the game such as the visibility underwater.. changes to the water mechanics.. swimming animation.. mobs working underwater and many new blocks and mobs related to the sea.
I know many players are not too keen on making the game only playable with the 1.13 version but honestly it would feel very bland and disappointing not being able to see actual fish instead of built ones with blocks and the current water mechanics are very awkward. It would change the whole game with fantastic additions.
There are also Cons to updating the game to 1.13 and it would take the admins a long time to make it fully compatible, the current mods such as SBA and etc will have to be updated to 1.13 and many more issues and bugs that will come and appear.
If the game doesn't get updated to 1.13 then it's fine, we could do something similar such as.. adding an enchant to increase mobility greatly underwater and the visibility could be improved with The Night Vision Tailsman. The 1.13 blocks can be replaced with other blocks and as far as mobs go it's up to the Dev Team to decide how they look.
Updating the version of the game is a pretty controversial topic so if I made any mistakes within the presented changes above then constructive criticism is welcome!

I've made 10 Custom Sea Creatures! Most of them are for Late Game players and this is what they look like!

▶ Info & Zones.
The new mobs could be an expansion to Fishing, some could spawn in different Areas and Zones of the Abyss and some could even be classified as Bosses!
We should have 3 different Zones.
1. The Sea Bed, including areas such as (The Coral Reef, Kelp Forest, Pirate's Bay).
2. The Active Lava Zone, including areas such as (The Volcanic Vents, Molten River, Magmatic Wasteland).
3. The Deep Abyss, including areas such as (The Bone Yard, Ghost Forest, Jerriana Trench). The main spawn should be a pirate island at Y=150-200 in the sky in the middle of the ocean and you should be able to roam freely around Zone 1. Cods, Salmons, Turtles and Dolphins can spawn around (If it's 1.13) and the Undead Pirate & Pirate Legend will spawn at the depths of the Sea Bed in groups just like The Spirit Wolves and Soul of The Alphas in the Howling Caves. If you reach the maximum depth of Zone 1 you'll run into a portal which will teleport you to Zone 2 again high in the sky so the player has to go deep yet again to reach the 3rd portal which again will repeat the same pattern. Zone 2 could be skipped as it might make some difficulties because of Water & Lava but the Lava in Zone 2 could just be replaced with orange clay and other orange blocks and if you step on them you would take damage. Heck don't even think about making the whole zone made out of Lava you wouldn't see a thing. It will be made out of Water but this time you'll need Fire Resistance Potions! Zone 3 will effect the player with Blindness which will make it difficult to see and it will give a very eerie experience, it's okay though because I've made a tailsman to give immunity to this debuff! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ▶ New Items. -Drops from The Undead Pirates, or could be a new Glowstone Collection Crafting Item.
-Drops rarely from The Sea Serpent.
-An extremely rare drop from The Pirate Legend.
-Drops very rarely from killing The Meg.
-Drops rarely from The Sea Viper.
-Drops rarely from The Kraken.
-Drops very rarely from The Sea Dragon.
-Guaranteed drop from The Reaper Leviathan which can be used to craft Armor.
-An extremely rare drop from The Emperor Leviathan.
-Could be an extremely rare drop from Neptune or maybe he can drop an item like The Scythe Blade or Digested Mosquito which can be used to craft The Trident later on.
-Inspired by Subnautica (The Game).
